The Mod. Sakata is a specialized upgrade to the standard Sakata Spider with bolstered health, damage output, speed, and self-repair speed. It is a powerful unit that although expensive can turn the tide of a battle on its own, or secure a quick victory.
The Mod. Sakata uses similar weapon systems as the Sakata Spider, firing singular voltage beams at ground targets within range. It has slight area damage that also heavily increases its single target potential, allowing it to melt many durable targets in its way, even the enemy base. Overall, it has higher damage, a bit of area damage, a faster firerate, and faster projectiles whilst trading away some of its range.
Mod. Sakatas move fast, fire fast, and self-repair fast. In fact, they repair so fast that the base is unable to destroy them on its own. They can enter and exit engagements quickly, maintain constant devastating fire, and shrug off intense damage output with their rapid self-repairing. They often can be deployed on their own to clear Chronite Tank platoons and more.
Mod Sakatas can potentially inflict up to 220 damage to each individual target they fire at, ripping through even Chronite units as scary speeds. A single Chronite Tank can never hope to destroy them, and little else can break through their rapid self-repairing alone before being decimated.
Mod. Sakatas still lack weaponry to handle aerial threats. Although their self-repairing makes weaker damage less of an issue, Black Queens and Saints can still pose a serious threat to them without being able to retaliate.
Mod. Sakatas are still extremely vulnerable to Missile damage, especially Special Operations and Black Queen ground missiles that can destroy them immediately on hit. Avoid putting them in the front lines when such danger is present.
What makes Mod. Sakatas such a threat is their rapid self-repairing technology. Without it, they become vulnerable to even Chronite Tank platoons. If a single Shrike is in the air, retreat the Mod. Sakata immediately, else it will be swiftly destroyed by counter forces and waste 50 Influence.
Mod. Sakatas require 50 Influence to be deployed and are only found in the Solar Grid, requiring not only 100 Money total to gain the option to deploy them, but also 50 Influence per Mod. Sakata. This means rarely more than 1 will be available to deploy, and it will have to be protected against anything that could destroy or shut it down fast to avoid wasting so many resources.
Most units on deployment cannot immediately destroy a Mod. Sakata, and the base cannot destroy one on its own. Sending just one to the enemy base can quickly achieve victory from how much damage it deals to the base in such little time.
Deploy a Mod. Sakata in front of your mainline, only if there is not a Special Operations under enemy control. Then, provide healthy healing with Meditecs to create a powerful self-repairing shield against all incoming assaults, alongside being able to fire back and destroy plenty of valuable units on its own.
