The Mod. Gröditz is an upgraded variant of the standard Gröditz, bearing stronger weaponry, a faster firerate, and higher health. They are overall superior compared to their common brethren and are more capable of holding their own in an engagement.
Mod. Gröditz use Mk-II machine guns, built to strike targets harder and fire faster than the standard machine guns on the Gröditz. Like their predecessor, Mod. Gröditz can fire at both ground and air targets with equal ferocity.
Mod. Gröditz inflict the same damage with no drawbacks no matter if they're fighting air or ground units, making them effective at suppressing both fronts.
Chronite armor significantly reduces incoming Infantry and Kinetic damage, found on early and mid-game units like Marines, A25-Romans, Gröditz, and Phantoms. The Mod. Gröditz can provide a defensible wall against such units, and with their increased health, are reasonable targets for Meditecs to keep alive to maintain this oppressive wall.
Mod. Gröditz will find difficulty dealing with Scouts and Snipers, since both use weaponry made to counter Chronite armor. Since Snipers also outrange Mod. Gröditz, they are likely to put one down if enough fire all at once against them, same with Scout swarms. Hover Tanks are especially deadly, dealing high damage and easily negating the defensive power Chronite bears.
Mod. Gröditz lack the proper crowd clearing Phantoms possess with their splash damage, making Mod. Gröditz less effective against large groups of units. They're better used against singular or minimal targets, or units with low health and armor.
Mod. Gröditz move faster than Chronite Tanks but still move slowly, struggling against more evasive units and prone to being kited by them.
Mod. Gröditz cost 35 Influence, a resource only obtained from controlling part of the field, queued production in Special Operations, or passively with the Monarchy government. This makes the Mod. Gröditz more difficult to amass in higher numbers and more of a supportive unit to a composition rather than the main bulk.
Place a Mod. Gröditz in front of units such as Snipers and Chronite Tanks, so they can serve as a defensive frontline that deals chip damage to incoming threats whilst baiting Sniper shots and Scout swarms. With sufficient healing from Meditecs, they can outheal the received chip damage to give the units behind them room to keep firing. Keep them away from missiles, though, since they're more valuable than regular Gröditz.
Mod. Gröditz outrange the base, allowing them to fire at it from a safe distance without retaliation. Putting a Mod. Gröditz behind a pin close to the base will put more pressure on the base, encouraging a weaker retaliation that can be countered to make the opponent waste resources.
