The A27-Pride is a unique android soldier that is a step away from the powerful A28-Gladiator. It comes equipped with Missile resistant Special armor and a high range, high firerate pulse rifle that inflicts Missile equivalent damage. A27-Prides operate best when incorporated into the Special Operations teams deployed in the same building they come from.
The A27-Pride uses a high range, high firerate, and splash damage variant of the pulse rifle that inflicts Missile equivalent damage, effective for infantry skirmishes and penetrating Chronite armor. With their long range, they can outrange many units and kite effectively. A27-Prides also are capable of attacking air.
With higher damage output, range and health than the A25-Roman, as well as Special armor and splash damage, Prides can quickly decimate most Infantry groups. One of them is usually enough to handle entire groups without needing much support other than some Meditecs for on-site repairs.
Wearing Special armor, this makes the A27-Pride very strong against Missile damage and a good choice when needing to protect your units from an opponent using the Special Operations structure. They are also particularly decent at handling Black Queen ground missiles and can potentially bait them to reduce the impact for your other more vulnerable units.
The A27-Pride is vulnerable to higher tier units that can shred it, whilst having a weapon that is ineffectve against them, creating a situation where the A27-Pride is most useful in the early and mid-game. For example, Hover Tanks deal too much damage too fast, especially in platoons, and Sakata Spiders are about the same with the added issue of self-repairing away damage dealt to them.
Don't expect the A27-Pride to be winning any fights against Special or Composite armor. Saints will have no problem destroying a Pride and the forces it protects, and Sphinxes and Jötunns can block it from further advances with their durability and Composite armor.
Tachyon weaponry units like the Eidolon and Jötunn are extremely lethal to Special armor units like the A27-Pride. Meditecs won't save them from the sheer devastation such units can unleash onto them.
With how effective the unit is at both slaughtering early game units and how tanky it can be, using meditecs can create a very dangerous pin especially in 1v1s. Just be wary of the Shrike, which mixed with Chronite Tanks will quickly put an end to your pin if you're not careful.
This unit traverses quickly, so it can kite your units while laying down oppressive fire even on units you would think would eat it for breakfast, such as the Chronite Tank or Snipers. Be careful when facing such a threat!
