The Black Queen is the prime aerial unit of the Outpost, firing dangerous ground and anti-air missiles that can eliminate large fields of units. Multiple Black Queens blackening the skies spells doom for all without Special armor.
Black Queens fire both anti-air missiles and ground missiles, cementing their place as an air superiority unit over all others. Although their ground missiles have an exceptionally long reload time, they do immense damage in a large area, perfect for large and vulnerable groups of units.
Black Queen ground missiles possess a high radius for their splash damage, often killing everything else near the unit they fired at. Furthermore, they have a long range for their ground missiles, often striking first to put a huge dent in any oncoming assault. This can result in entire Chronite Tank, Gröditz, and Sakata Spider platoons collapsing from one missile, with infantry even worse off. Not even self-repairing will save from such an immense burst of damage. Having two Black Queens guarantees nothing will survive.
Any non-Special armor air units in the path of a Black Queen will be quickly destroyed by their anti-air missiles. The only way to slow them down is with sheer numbers, since their anti-air missiles lack the area damage their ground missiles possess.
Black Queens have high health supported with Special armor, making them able to take 3 whole Special Operations missiles without being destroyed. They shrug off A28-Gladiator shots as well, only caring much about Saints, Sakata Mk-II's and anything bearing Tachyon damage.
Sakata Mk-II's are a difficult matchup, bearing Special armor and high damaging Hadron Cannons made to annihilate air units. Black Queens can find themselves unable to fight back against them with the long reload times between ground missiles and the consistent damage output the Sakata Mk-II's unleash. Saints are also dangerous, since their anti-air weapons are potent against the Black Queen, and their Special armor resists the anti-air missiles fairly well.
Taking a whole 12 seconds between each ground missile means Black Queens are susceptible to being baited by an A28-Gladiator or Sakata Mk-II into wasting it on Missile-resistant units, leaving it unable to fight against any ground units it could easily wipe out otherwise.
Black Queens are extremely expensive, one of the most expensive units in the game. This, alongside taking up to 15 seconds to deploy, makes them lengthy to amass in high numbers. The only time Black Queens can be amassed so frequently is if you have enough resources and time to build up enough of them, preferably with an ally also deploying them.
If you have the time and resources, having 2-3 Black Queens ready to fire can give you a firm foothold only threatened by Sakata Mk-II's and Saints. Having some simple aerial and ground support will bolster this further and allow you to pelt the skies with anti-air missiles and orchestrate either all-in ground missile barrages, or unleashing them one at a time.
The high health and Special armor of Black Queens makes them effective at being an aerial blockade against Special Operations missiles and large air unit groups. Support them with Angels to ensure they can maintain their air presence, and always be careful for incoming Sakata Mk-II's and Saints.
